About the role
As the Manager of Conservation Planning, you will lead and manage a skilled and experienced team to achieve objectives for conservation planning on the Parks Victoria estate. You will lead the development of conservation plans to address ecological needs and to support regions in directing conservation effort. Given the environmental challenges facing park management, the plans developed by this unit are essential to ensure conservation management is targeted and effective, and to enable evaluation and adaptation of actions. Duties include managing and supporting a high performing team, leading the development of strategy and frameworks and engaging effectively with internal and external partners.
You will work with diverse range of people with strong expertise in evidence-based conservation and public land managment. The role offers the opportunity to actively contribute to Parks Victoria's vision is to be a world-class parks service, ensuring healthy parks for healthy people. This is a fixed-term part time jobshare role.
We're looking for someone with:
- Skills in leading and managing a team to meet strategic goals and preferred culture
- Experience and knowledge in conservation planning and management programs on public land
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, natural resource management or similar discipline
