About Us:

The Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM) is an independent statutory authority governed by the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine Act 1985 (the VIFM Act). It is part of the Justice portfolio of the Victorian Government.

The VIFM Act creates a joint position of Director of the VIFM and Professor of the Department of Forensic Medicine (DFM) at Monash University. The Director/Professor is responsible for the strategic direction and activities of the DFM, which is housed at the VIFM and operates under the governance of the Monash University Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.

This position is within the Forensic Medical Services Division.

About the Role:

The Clinical Workforce Coordinator role works as part of the Forensic Services Support team and is responsible for designing and developing the rosters for medical and nursing staff within the Forensic Medical Services Division. This role is also involved in supporting the recruitment and credentialing process.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Creating and populating rosters for clinical staff within Forensic Services, ensuring minimum staffing levels are maintained on the rosters to meet service delivery requirements, and provide support to the Heads of Service to ensure leave is managed appropriately.
  • Liaising with medical and nursing staff regarding changes to rosters.
  • Coordinating leave requests from clinical staff and preparing leave planners for review and approval from the relevant Head of Service.

About You:

As an ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Understanding of Medical Workforce responsibilities including rostering, credentialing, Enterprise Agreements and professional development requirements.
  • Significant experience in medical workforce rostering and liaising with medical practitioners.
  • Ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements and Awards for the purposes of workforce management.
  • Capability to create, maintain, and analyse reports

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary or formal qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or business.
