Museum Victoria, Australia’s largest public museum organisation, is seeking a Systems Accountant to deliver finance IT systems projects and provide a high level of systems administration and development support, as well as accounting support to the Finance and Administration Department.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Systems Accountant is responsible for the delivery of systems projects which improve their use, functionality, and ensure the IT systems and associated interfaces specific to the Finance Department are maintained and operating effectively. The position is also accountable for accurate and timely accounting and indirect tax support.
Key Skills required for this position include:
Demonstrated project leading experience in relation to Finance systems development
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to be proactive in identifying user needs and implementing improvements to meet those needs
Ability to provide and communicate expert advice on systems and processes to a wide range of stakeholders
The successful applicant will have sound knowledge of accounting principles and indirect taxes applicable to the public sector, be able to work collaboratively and flexibly in a team environment and hold a relevant a tertiary qualification in accounting with an approved professional body.
