We are seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Data Analyst, to join our Research and Evaluation team, where you will be responsible for analysing and reporting on quantitative data and information to assist in the management of Quality & Patient Experience and clinical outcomes. This is a full time, fixed term (12-month) position currently based in Blackburn North (hybrid WFH options available). We encourage applications for full time or part time.
About the role
The Mental Health Reform program has been established to respond to the recommendations applicable to Ambulance Victoria from the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System. Out of the 65 recommendations, Recommendation 10 applies directly to AV, which seeks to implement health-led responses to mental health crises with support from mental health clinicians and/or Victoria Police as required. The program is currently reviewing options for future state service design. This includes a triage and dispatch model, an on-scene health-led crisis response model, telehealth consultation model, co-response models and alternate service providers via AV's secondary referral model.
Reporting to the Principal Evaluation Analyst, your focus is on QPE clinical systems and IT platforms, ensuring data integrity, and developing and delivering reports in accordance with internal and external requirements. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Undertake complex analysis and/or research on a range of issues and provide analytical support for quality improvement projects within Centre of Research & Evaluation and across other Divisions.
- Working with quantitative data, develop and automate data reports to assist in the monitoring of all relevant aspects of Quality & Patient Experience (QPE) performance, operational performance, and patient care.
- Collaborate and contribute to the data collection and reporting functions relating to QPE & Operational Improvement, including monitoring, analysing, and reporting on service delivery models.
- Scope, prepare and review complex data requests for the Centre for Research & Evaluation.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, consulting and sharing information with others and communicating decisions and progress to peers and managers.
About you
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, with impeccable attention to detail and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment, consulting, and sharing information with others and strong stakeholder engagement skills. You will be an excellent communicator both interpersonal and written and aim to contribute and collaborate as part of the division to enable it to achieve its functions.
To be considered for this position you will possess:
- Tertiary qualification at the postgraduate level in a relevant discipline (Statistics / Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics) with high level relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and sound experience.
- Highly developed/advanced quantitative data analysis skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information.
- Prior solid experience working with, and analysis of, very large and complex data sets, using statistical packages (i.e., STATA, SPSS, R, SQL, Power BI etc.); Power BI experience will be highly regarded.
- Solid grounding in statistical theory and demonstrated application in business/research setting.
- Experience in distilling complex analysis into meaningful narratives and visualisation for senior management.
- Experience collaborating on projects using advanced analytical methods.
- Demonstrated lateral thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues and proactively problem solve and the judgement to determine appropriate courses of action.
- Previous experience working within the Health Sector (desirable).
