Our Operational Communications division is responsible for coordinating and optimising state-wide emergency and non-emergency ambulance response, as well as the provision of patient care through Australia's largest ambulance triage directorate.
This is a Full Time- Ongoing opportunity within the AV Operational Communications division, located at our Burwood East Business Centre.
About the role
The Lead Communications Clinic Transport Services is an integral member of the leadership team managing and overseeing the Clinical Transport Services (CTS) Communications centre day of operations, ensuring business continuity, resourcing and quality control. This position is also responsible for identifying and implementing improvement initiatives, reporting on performance, supporting training, coaching and development of staff by transforming the way we do business with a passion for the health, wellbeing, satisfaction and growth of our people as part of Best Care. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the translation of strategy into portfolio work in the Communications Clinic Transport space, and deliver initiatives in line with broader organisation goals
- Providing specialist knowledge, advice and direction regarding strategic business plans and priorities in accordance with AV procedures or processes across software applications, triage processes and all alternative service provision options
- Leading the management of shift operations to ensure optimal performance
- Developing and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including system vendors and external health services
- Coaching team members to build positive engagement experiences with key stakeholders
About you
Suited to a highly motivated individual who is passionate about improvement as you will enjoy a partnership approach to delivering excellence, to be considered for this position, you will possess the following:
- Emergency response experience or experience working in a medical environment is highly desirable.
- Completion of a postgraduate degree (desirable), relevant industry certification (or progress toward) with high level relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and sound experience.
- Experience working in a customer service industry and prior training and service improvement experience.
- Understanding and exposure to communication room operations with solid supervisory and management experience.
- Interpersonal and influencing skills to gain the acceptance and support of ideas, cooperation of others, and the ability to modify styles and techniques to accommodate tasks, situations and individuals.
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to enable the identification of issues, and the judgement and decision making ability to determine appropriate courses of action and formulation of strategies for achieving long-range organisational goals.
- Integrity and judgement to ensure matters of a confidential or sensitive nature are handled appropriately.
- Required to possess a current Victorian Driver Licence.

This position is graded at AV5 under the Ambulance Victoria (Management and Administrative Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2021, plus 11% superannuation.
