We are seeking an experienced Project Managerto work as part of our Wellbeing & Support Services team. This is an 18-month fixed term, part-time (0.6) position responsible for project management of a Randomised Control Trial designed to evaluate the efficacy of Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to prevent the development of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in Ambulance Victoria (AV) first responders. Whilst WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicants maintain a presence at our Doncaster headquarters in line with our hybrid working model. 

About the role

Reporting to the Principal Psychologist, this role will Manage the Randomised Controlled Trial of EMDR to prevent development of PTSD in AV first responders project using the AV Project Management Framework and associated templates and procedures, to meet desired time, budget, compliance, and quality objectives. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project, including adherence to the RCT protocols, governance, and reporting
  • Develop and maintain risk assessments and develop contingency plans in line with the AV Risk Management Framework and AV Project Management Framework to enable accurate project budgeting and timeline planning
  • Manage and oversee the Mental Health and Wellbeing Action Plan, Annual Plan and Emergency Management Victoria deliverables for the project by creating detailed project plans, including a project timeline
  • Implement approved plans and strategies within project budget parameters and time frames
  • Ensure effective working relationships are built and maintained with key stakeholders 

About you

The ideal candidate will have a completion of a postgraduate degree or relevant project management certification (or progress toward), or an equivalent combination of training and project management experience, preferably PRINCE2 OR completion of a postgraduate qualification in an Allied Health field, Nursing, or associated profession where completing a research thesis has been a component of the program. Other requirements include (not limited to): 

  • Demonstrated experience in program and/or project management and research methodologies with the capability to implement complex plans, programs, or projects
  • Experience in running and overseeing Randomised Controlled Trials (highly desirable)
  • Experience in mental health research design, literature review, data analysis and completion of a research project related to the field (highly desirable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications, and use of statistical software
  • Well-developed conceptual, analytical, and critical thinking skills including data management and basic statistical analysis capabilities in quantitative and qualitative research
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal effectiveness with well-developed oral and written communication skills of a standard required for preparing high quality reports, draft manuscripts, and project documentation
