We are seeking a Peer Support Coordinator (Education and Training) to provide the coordination of Ambulance Victoria's (AV) Peer Support Program in line with AV's policies, procedures and relevant legislation to ensure that the Peer Support program is resourced and accessible to AV employees and their immediate family members. 

This is a Full Time, Permanent position. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster in line with our hybrid working model. 

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Peer & Pastoral Care, responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate the Peer Support Program, in conjunction with the PSC State-wide including the critical incident report, peer responder rosters and all reporting, to always ensure effective coverage of this service
  • Coordinate training, evaluation and refresher requirements for the Peer Support team, with the Senior Manager Peer and Pastoral Care and broader Wellbeing Support Services team to ensure currency of training content and identify improvement opportunities for the program
  • Develop learning material and training programs aligned with AV's Wellbeing and Support Services, Mental Health and Wellbeing Action Plan, other strategic objectives, projects and within policies and procedures that are evidence informed and evidence based

About you

To be considered for this position you will possess:

  • Completion of a postgraduate degree/relevant industry certification (or progress toward) with high level relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and sound experience, in peer support/wellbeing or relevant field
  • Tertiary qualification in an education or training related discipline (e.g. Certificate IV Training & Assessment) desirable
  • High level demonstrated experience in coordinating programs with excellent administrative and computer skills with the ability to handle competing demands in a high-volume work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of foundational learning programs, cultural change programs and programs that support Peer Support and other wellbeing programs
  • Required to be available outside of ordinary working hours to provide advice, support or authoritative direction to other employees or managers involved in dealing with emergency or time critical incidents or issues (CAA1)
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence
