We are seeking an experienced data specialist to manage the strategic objectives of our data governance framework, lead transformation to lift the governance, oversight and literacy of the data to realise it's benefits in cost savings, efficiency and performance improvements.
This is a Full Time, Permanent position. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Blackburn in line with our hybrid working model.
About the role
Reporting to the Director Data Strategy, Governance & Ethics, responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:
- Drive the implementation of AV's Data Governance strategy
- Develop and provide reports to key stakeholders regarding data governance activities, compliance and related issues
- Provide expert input to AV's data model
- Assist in the refinement and maintenance of AVs Data Governance Framework and associated policies and procedures
- Identify areas of non-compliance in collaboration with divisions, and develop strategies to address discrepancies
- Develop and implement standard processes (including requesting, sharing, defining, producing and using data) to ensure clear and controlled engagement with internal customers for data analysis and reporting
About you
To be considered for this position you will possess:
- Postgraduate degree or relevant industry certification (or progress toward) with high level relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and sound experience.
- Experience in a data governance role within an operationally focussed organisation (desirable)
- Strong conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
- Well developed planning and organising skills
- Outstanding customer service orientation to take responsibility for understanding client needs and ensuring these are met, including the ability to translate, challenge and manage customer requests
- Extensive experience in preparing complex plans and reports for executive management.
