The Senior Manager, Peer and Pastoral Care, leads the Peer and Pastoral Care teams in the management of frontline support programs by ensuring these are efficient, effective and streamlined in their delivery, also ensuring adequate governance requirements and associated systems and processes are in place. It provides leadership, oversight, direction and ensures delivery of integrated Peer Support and Pastoral Care services and ensures the activities align to supporting best practice outcomes for AV staff.
This is a Full Time, Permanent position. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster Headquarters in line with our hybrid working model.
About the role
Reporting to the Director Wellbeing & Support Services, responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:
- Manage the resourcing, training and development, supervision frameworks and regular debriefing of the team, ensuring appropriate and effective state-wide coverage and response
- Provide support to managers to build capability in managing staff with wellbeing issues
- Manage and develop staff to achieve organisational goals through mentoring and performance development discussions
- Play a leadership role in creating a safe and respectful workplace culture by proactively championing practices that promote staff and patient safety, health and wellbeing and model ethical and positive workplace behaviour consistent with AV values
- Represent AV in a range of forums and committees as required
- Develop collaborative relationships across AV and externally to promote wellbeing initiatives, raise awareness and deliver wellbeing and support programs
- Ensure compliance with legislative and financial regulations and frameworks; delivering business plans and priorities in accordance with organisational policies, processes and guidelines ensuring activities are aligned to corporate/ strategic objectives
- Work closely with the Wellbeing and Support Services leadership team to ensure services are aligned and integrated into AV's wellbeing and support services and meet AV's needs in caring for the mental health and wellbeing of employees, first responders and their families
About you
To be considered for this position you will possess:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or industry certification with extensive relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams to achieve results in large, complex or diverse organisations
- Demonstrated experience in managing a 24/7 service (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience and skills in the management and delivery of staff wellbeing support programs and/or emergency services would be highly advantageous
- Required to be available outside of ordinary working hours to provide advice, support or authoritative direction to other employees or managers involved in dealing with emergency or time critical incidents or issues (CAA1)
- Required to possess a current Victorian Driver Licence
