Community Correctional Services (CCS), part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety, plays a vital role in managing individuals on parole, post-sentence supervision, and court orders. As our client base continues to grow, we are strengthening our services through evidence-based practices—ensuring we focus on the areas that create the greatest impact.
About the role
As the Supervisor, Court Assessment and Prosecutions, you will lead a dedicated team of Court Assessment and Prosecutions Officers supporting the Magistrates Court and key stakeholders in the sentencing process. Court Assessment & Prosecutions Officers support CCS operations by conducting assessments, managing order changes or breaches, and providing evidence-based sentencing advice to the judiciary.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:
- Oversee Court Assessment & Prosecutions Service (CAPS) operations
- Guide, mentor and develop a small, high-performing team of CAPS Officers
- Ensure effective workload planning and resource allocation
- Provide expert court advice to staff and stakeholders
- Drive timely, high-quality service delivery and reporting for key stakeholders
Your leadership will directly contribute to fair, informed sentencing outcomes and stronger community safety.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Strong experience in case management frameworks, including needs assessment in a human services setting
- Proven ability to lead, support and develop teams in an operational environment
- An understanding of court processes and sentencing principles
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
A qualification in law, social work, criminal justice or criminology—and relevant industry experience—is also desirable.
