About us
Corrections Victoria's purpose is to deliver an effective corrections system for a safe community. Community Correctional Services (CCS), is overseen by Corrections Victoria, a division of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. CCS is responsible for the management and supervision of prisoners on parole, clients under post sentence supervision and court orders.
About the role
Step into a pivotal leadership position as Principal Practitioner. You'll oversee staff and case management practices across a service stream of prisoners on parole — including individuals with violent and sexual offence histories — and those under post-sentence supervision.
Reporting directly to the CCS Regional General Manager, you'll be the trusted advisor on risk escalation, incident management, and quality assurance. Collaboration is key: you'll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure best practice outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven expertise in managing complex and high-risk individuals
- Strong background in best practice risk management and therapeutic interventions with high risk and complex individuals
- Deep knowledge and experience working within a legislative framework
- Exceptional written communication skills for high-profile reports and briefings
- well-developed leadership capabilities including providing effective staff supervision, training and mentoring.
