The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Operations Manager, Prison Incidents to provide a critical role within the Operational Assurance, Compliance and Reviews.
About the Business Unit
The Operations Manager, Prison Incidents reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager, Prison Incidents and is responsible for managing a small team of Incident Review Analysts and an Incident Review Officer. This role oversees the auditing of prison incidents and practices, and collation of incident information including various types of evidence. This role also conducts incident reviews, provides authoritative advice on complex prison incidents. Liaise with key stakeholders including Victoria Police, integrity agencies and lawyers will also be a key part of this role.
About the Role
Some of your duties will include:
- Manage a small team, including Incident Review Analysts and an Incident Review Officer
- Develop and maintain systems for effective recording of audits and prison incidents
- Oversee auditing of prison incidents; identify trends and emerging issues and provide timely reporting and possible solutions

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience at a senior level, including successfully managing teams, demonstrating leadership in collaborative environments, and working across teams and organisations to achieve outcomes.
- Knowledge of current legislative requirements pertaining to a correctional environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of Corrections Victoria's prison operations, policies and procedures.
Qualifications/requirements
- Completion of the Corrections Victoria Prison Officer pre-service training.
