  • Fixed term, Full time opportunity (1.0FTE position made up from two 0.5FTE positions) until 30/06/2028.
  • VPS grade 4 - $97,955 - $111,142 plus superannuation.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Drug Court Project Officer and County Court of Victoria Drug and Alcohol Treatment Court Information Sharing Officer to provide a critical role within Community Operations and Parole.

About the Business Unit

Justice Services is responsible for the direction, management, and operation of Victoria's Community Correctional Services (CCS) across more than 35 locations. It ensures offenders are safely and securely managed and aims to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

Community Operations and Parole is responsible for providing central end-to-end oversight of the CCS service system and includes the Parole Central Unit (PCU), CCS Development Branch, State-wide Community Work and Partnerships (SCWP), Offender Management Development Branch (OMBD), Court Assessment and Prosecutions Services (CAPS) Central Unit and the Adult Parole Board (APB) Secretariat. CCS review and investigation activities, monitoring and reporting and a suite of operational projects are also functions undertaken within Community Operations and Parole.

About the Role

The role of Drug Court Project Officer and County Court of Victoria Drug and Alcohol Treatment Court Information Sharing Officer is outlined in the two separate position descriptions.

The role is a 1.0FTE position made up from two 0.5FTE positions, Drug Court Project Officer and County Court of Victoria Drug and Alcohol Treatment Court Information Sharing Officer.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Sound knowledge of the Victorian correctional system, including CCS operations and Corrections Victoria's prison management and operations
  • Experience using Corrections Victoria information systems, including PIMS and E-Justice.
  • Demonstrated understanding and operational knowledge of Community Correctional Services, and key issues impacting Corrections and Justice Services or like organisations.
  • Sound knowledge of Victorian government administrative processes and/or legal processes.
  • Knowledge and experience of court operations and processes as related to Drug and Alcohol Treatment Orders (DATO).

Qualifications/requirements

  • Relevant project management or Community Correctional Services experience is highly desirable.
