- VPS grade 6 - $138,631 - $185,518 plus superannuation.
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior QA Business Analyst to provide a critical role within Emergency Management Technology and Data.
DJCS Emergency Management
Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria, Emergency Recovery Victoria, Sector Performance and Reform and emergency management statutory entities and offices. The work of the group supports the emergency management sector to work together and to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to achieve our shared vision of safer and more resilient communities and to rebuild and recover after an emergency.
The Business Unit
EM Technology and Data is responsible for both national and state technology platforms that enable communications to and from the community, sector operational communications and sector information systems. The EM Technology business unit is responsible for delivering the following key functions of: Strategy & Enterprise Architecture; Investment Planning; Support & Development; Procurement & Program Delivery; Vendor & Contract Management.
About the Role
The Senior QA Business Analyst is responsible for gathering and analysing business and technical requirements through stakeholder interviews, research, and data analysis to define problems, solution scopes, and both functional and non-functional requirements. You are responsible for ensuring the quality of software products by applying testing principles throughout the software development life cycle and creating and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to improve product quality.
Some of your duties will include:
- Develop and oversee test plans, test scripts, and perform regression and system testing to validate the configured solutions.
- Implement quality assurance and testing services to ensure that all information systems, products, and services meet the organisation's standards and end-user requirements against each release cycle.
- Conduct a high level functional and regression testing and oversee the testing lifecycle to ensure the integrity and reliability of the various platforms. This includes core business, integration, data, IT service management and customer service platforms.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in executing complex testing campaigns, displaying a strong understanding of SQA methodologies and strong knowledge in the above technologies
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and working experience in Agile environments is strongly desired.
- Strong structured testing knowledge and thorough understanding of performance testing and desirable knowledge in penetration testing on Platforms and applications.
- Great attention to detail and ability to identify, isolate and document defects in complex software features
- Customer focused – Seeks to understand client's business requirements and provides input to serve the client.
- Experience in software deployments
- Strong analytical, good verbal and written communication skills, self-starter, and influencing skills
- Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analysing data, transcribing/typing, viewing a computer, and extensive reading.
Qualifications/requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering (Electrical), or equivalent
