Western Plains Correctional Centre (Western Plains) is Victoria's new, state-of-the-art maximum-security correctional facility.

Corrections Victoria is seeking full-time prison officers to start at Western Plains in 2025. 

What's in it for you

  ✔ Earn up to $88,546 with a base salary of $61, 620 plus penalty rates and overtime 
 ✔ Annual salary increases, 5 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks personal leave and provisions for study leave 
  ✔ 41 days comprehensive paid training (full time) 
  ✔ Complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Adult Custodial) 
  ✔ Relocation assistance of up to $10,000 if you're moving from more than 100km away.

$5,000 sign-on bonus 

New prison officers are now eligible for a bonus of up to $5,000. Six months after commencing, you will receive a payment of $2,500. Then, after one year's full-time employment, you will receive an additional payment of $2,500. Conditions apply, see website for details.  

Eligibility

You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold Australian permanent residency. You also need to hold an Australian driver's licence (minimum P2).
