All applicants must have completed the Corrections Victoria prison officer pre-service training in order to be considered for this role.


Langi Kal Kal (LKK) Prison is on the Western Highway at Trawalla, 150 kilometres west of Melbourne. The Prison provides minimum-security accommodation for prisoners who require a level of protection. LKK Prison was originally a farming property and has also served as a youth training centre.

As a prison, it has been re-established as a working farm with a focus on preparing offenders for reintegration to the community. Accommodation consists of mainly single rooms and has an operational capacity of 487 prisoners. 

All Langi Kal Kal prisoners are expected to work full-time if they are able. Industries include agriculture, horticulture, woodwork, participation in the Landmates program, cleaning services, kitchen and general maintenance
