About ESTA

ESTA is the critical link between the Victorian community and the state's emergency services agencies and it partners with the agencies to improve service delivery to the community. It provides Victoria's 24-hour emergency call-taking and dispatch services for police, fire, ambulance and VICSES and manages the provision of advanced, operational communications for police, ambulance, fire services and the SES.  Its vision is to be a high-performing team trusted by the community and our partners to deliver the right emergency response. About the Role

The Database and GIS Manager manages and coaches a team to deliver ‘Business as Usual' change and maintenance activities as well as large scale projects.  This role is responsible for ensuring the mission critical 24/7 databases that support ESTA's Emergency Computer Aided Dispatch systems are functioning at optimal levels.

Key focus areas for this role include ensuring mission critical Oracle, Biz Talk and SQL server production systems are running at optimal performance while ensuring that required changes are correctly architected and implemented into the mission critical CAD environment.  You will develop strategies for the improvement of Database management, mapping and data processing and ensure KPI's for ESO's are met.

You will have

  • Completed Tertiary qualification in an IT stream or relevant experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience with SQL Server Scripting and Oracle (mandatory)
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience using GIS related software (eg. ESRI software suite)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills with a focus on customer service (mandatory)
  • ITIL Foundations qualification (desirable)
