Position Details

About the role

This role works within a multidisciplinary team of Planners, Schedulers, Cost Controllers, Cost Estimators and support staff, and is responsible for overseeing a team of cost controllers and estimators in accordance with and regard to technical standards and the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) procedures, systems and governance.

The role requires a collaborative alignment across the LXRP portfolio of projects and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a broad range of internal and external parties.

This is a three-year fixed term position, paying a salary of between $170,997 and $232,558 plus superannuation.  People that enjoy working from both the office and from home have the option to access our hybrid working arrangements.

About you

To be successful in this role you should ideally be able to demonstrate the following:

  • 10+ years' Civil/Multi-Disciplinary Cost Control and Estimating experience in an infrastructure, construction or engineering environment and preferably in the Rail Transport industry
  • Extensive experience in managing teams in a matrixed environment
  • Extensive experience driving high quality outcomes, ensuring timeframes are met, where multiple stakeholders have competing demands.
  • Strong ability to drive innovative and technology solutions to streamline process and improve business operations.
  • Experience with Accounting systems such as Oracle / SAP.
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and software.
  • Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera and MS Project.
  • Excellent understanding of contract terms and conditions.

A relevant qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Science related discipline is also mandatory.
