Senior Engagement Specialist


  • $98,396 - $119,052 p.a. plus superannuation
  • Fixed Term – Six months
  • Usual hours of work:  Full Time (flexibility may be available)

The position of Senior Engagement Specialist forms a part of the Resources branch within the Rural and Regional Victoria group.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide senior level communications and engagement support to assist the delivery of the Latrobe Valley Regional Rehabilitation Strategy (LVRRS) due in June 2020. This will involve managing the preparation and approval of a range of project collateral including fact sheets, web content and other material. It will also involve the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement plans and activities to ensure the views of key stakeholders are captured and understood regarding the LVRRS.

The role will work closely with the LVRRS Project Team which comprises staff from DJPR and DELWP. This position may also assist in other stakeholder engagement and communication activities relating to the work of Coal Resources Victoria.

The Latrobe Valley Regional Rehabilitation Strategy is a key part of the Victorian Government's response to the findings and recommendations of the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry. The Strategy is testing the feasibility of the pit lake rehabilitation options for the Latrobe Valley's three brown coal mine voids and seeks to set a safe, stable and sustainable final rehabilitated landform.  

This role requires extensive stakeholder and community engagement experience and the ability to develop and implement strategies.
