The Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA) was established in 2015 to oversee the largest rail infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, including the elimination of 50 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne by 2022. To date, 26 level crossings have been removed, 14 train stations have been rebuilt, new track has been laid, and three level crossing removals are now in construction. Procurement Specialist

  • Salary range of $93,867 - $113,572 plus superannuation
  • One full time, fixed term VPS 5 opportunity for up to 3 years

An exceptional opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Procurement Specialist to join the Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA), working on one of the largest infrastructure projects in Victoria's history.

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Specialist and Director, Procurement and Assurance, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for providing specialist procurement and contracting advice and support to the project teams and the Level Crossing Removal Authority ( LXRA ).

The position will focus on providing hands on planning and conduct of non-construction, goods and services procurement activities. The role will work with the Procurement Team to contribute towards contract management and the implementation of improvement programs in accord with industry best practice.

Key to your application will be your demonstrated experience in the direct hands-on planning, conduct and completion of public sector procurement activities within the constraints of a government environment.

Your strong ability to engage with stakeholders, negotiate and influence to successfully plan and deliver procurement activities despite competing priorities and within tight deadlines.

Your excellent communication skills with the ability to work autonomously, self-manage and prioritise work will also ensure your success in this critical role.
