The Community and Social Innovation Team supports the growth of inclusive local economies in targeted locations across Victoria as well as supports Victoria's social enterprise sector.

Reporting to the Director Community and Social Innovation, the Manager Social Innovation will oversee the social innovation work stream. The role will work with stakeholders from across government, social enterprise sector and industry to deliver initiatives which drive the implementation of the Victorian Social Enterprise Strategy and support increased labour market participation for Victoria's most disadvantaged job seekers.

The key accountabilities are:

  • Lead and manage implementation of projects, initiatives and events to ensure they meet stakeholder/industry needs and promote the government's economic objectives ensuring that specified timelines and standards are met
  • Organise Provide strategic insight and leadership to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, developing strategic partnerships with key organisations to gain cooperation, influence views and achieve business objectives.
  • Engage and manage professional service providers, contracts and other business relationships to deliver projects and initiatives
  • Provide strategic advice and prepare highly complex reports, submissions, briefing papers, correspondence to senior management and Ministers on various matters including sensitive issues.
  • Lead and mentor other branch team members as required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • High level strategy, project and contract management skills, and the ability to manage program performance against objectives and targets including measuring outcomes, monitoring risks and issues, and analysing and report on data trends/opportunities and issues.
  • Sound understanding of rapidly changing social economy and social impact field with experience in working with the social enterprise sector.
  • Demonstrated management experience at a middle to senior management level, with proven ability to motivate high performing staff and to nurture a positive workplace environment.
  • Well established consultative, communication and interpersonal skills that can support development of effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at senior levels within the private and public sectors.
  • High level communication skills, ability to present on complex issues, influence outcomes, gain cooperation and undertake complex negotiations; experience in the preparation of high quality, complex reports, briefs and recommendations.
