MTIA is established as an Administrative Office under the Public Administration Act 2004 as a specialist organisation, comprising skilled and experienced staff across the various professional disciplines involved in transport infrastructure project delivery. Led by the Director-General, it has five key groups: Level Crossing Removal Project, Major Road Projects Victoria, the North East Link Project, Rail Projects Victoria and the West Gate Tunnel Project. The Minister for Transport Infrastructure is the responsible Minister for the projects which are developed and delivered by MTIA.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Director Program Probity and Procurement Strategy, the Chief Procurement Officer (Goods & Services) will be responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of a goods and services procurement strategy, framework and underlying policies and processes, which adhere to legislative, probity and compliance requirements while driving the best value for the Major Transport Infrastructure Authority (MTIA).

The successful candidate will be required to lead, facilitate, and maintain relationships with a diverse range of senior internal and external stakeholders whilst representing and advocating for MTIA in portfolio and whole of government forums. The successful candidate will provide relevant, authoritative, and timely advice and assurance to achieve and maintain Victorian Government Purchasing Board accreditation.

This opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to lead and foster general procurement capability development across a major infrastructure organisation and make their mark in contributing to a suite of major projects that will change the way Victorian communities travel and connect for years to come!
