About the role:
Our Indictable Crime team is seeking experienced and motivated Legal Assistants to join their team of professional and support staff. These roles will suit candidates who enjoy the day to day challenges of working within a fast-paced environment.
We have three positions available, including:

  • 1x Full time ongoing position
  • 2x Full time positions, including a parental leave replacement position up to 12 months and maximum term position up to June 2024.

Reporting to the Administrative Services Manager, you will work with a team of legal assistants to provide a wide range of legal administration support to our lawyers. You will also assist legal aid clients with general enquiries and work with external legal practitioners and community legal centres to ensure the needs of our clients are met. Other duties will include but are not limited to; email, diary management and bookings, maintaining client database and case management system and general administrative duties.

About you:
You will have experience providing administrative and client services in a complex and sensitive environment with the ability to produce quality administrative work with limited direction. You will have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of work. You will have excellent teamwork skills, demonstrate flexibility and maintain a positive outlook in a high-pressure environment.

Crucial to your success is your strong communication and interpersonal skills and sound problem-solving skills with the capacity to engage people and build mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
