An exciting opportunity exists for a General Manager, Health Information & Systems Support on an ongoing full time basis in Justice Health.

Justice Health is a business unit of the Department of Justice and Regulation and is responsible for the delivery of health services for persons in Victorian prisons. In Victoria, health services to prisoners are contracted out to health service providers.  Justice Health sets the policy and standards for health care in prisons and contract manages the health service providers in the public prisons.

The General Manager, Health Information and Systems Support will be responsible for the management of two teams within Justice Health - Health Information and Policy and Justice Health Information Systems Support

The Health Information and Policy team are responsible for managing requests for the release of health information under various legislative frameworks including relevant Acts and through Court Orders. This role is responsible for oversighting the registration and management of all information requests into Justice Health. In addition, this role will lead the development, implementation and review of relevant policies and procedures to support Justice Health and service provider’s access and appropriately use health records.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of information management and relevant legislation pertaining to Corrections and Health
  • Skills in strategic thinking and leadership
