Position Details

This is an exciting permanent job opportunity to join the North Eastern Maintenance Alliance (NEMA).

An Alliance contract between VicRoads and Downer EDI to deliver maintenance and construction tasks in North Eastern Victoria.

The position is located in Benalla, a Regional Town in North East Victoria with great weather, sporting facilities and lifestyle choices. Benalla is central to the Victorian Snow field for winter activities and during the summer great bushwalking. It has many recreational lakes including Eildon and Nilahcootie for fishing and water sports. You are only an hour's drive to the Murray River and the many local wineries at Milawa, Glenrowan and Rutherglen and only 2 hours from Melbourne.

The successful applicant will be:

- Responsible to Coordinate and support site Supervisors in project/construction works including daily tracking of project progress.
- Use an asset management system (AMIS) to record and manage works
- Continually monitor and manage field crew performance
- Attend depot toolbox meetings on a regular basis
- Undertake zero harm observations
- Financial management of all relevant project or construction works
- Hold regular performance review meetings with Supervisors, and provide feedback
- Create and Implement work programs and delivery programs for project/construction activities
- Maintain effective communication channels between the asset, programming, inspection and operational teams
- Work with the operations, finance and assets teams to develop budgets, forecasts for annual works programs
- Create and facilitate opportunities for people to share knowledge and develop best practice strategic ideas for the Alliance and wider organisations.
- Actively Manage and Participate in and support Alliance Zero Harm initiatives and strategies
- Report to the AMT and APM on Routine Maintenance performance and compliance to the Road Management Plan and Road Management Act.
- Monitor, review and manage program delivery against agreed programs and budgets and forecast.

Experience with civil construction, maintenance and contract management is preferred but not essential. The ideal candidate will have two or more years of relevant experience with strong project management, problem solving, time management and written and verbal communication skills and can effectively engage stakeholders at all levels. Some experience with Bridge Maintenance, Periodic Surfacing, Asphalt and Pavement Rehabilitation will also be advantageous.

This position requires a tertiary qualification in civil engineering (or other relevant tertiary qualification) and a current and valid driver license.

Remuneration for the position is a VRO4 $82,968 - $100,943 plus superannuation.
