This newly created position of Industrial Relations Information and Compliance Officer forms a part of the Inspectorate Team within Industrial Relations Victoria.

Industrial Relations Victoria provides strategic industrial relations policy and technical advice to Government and departments with a focus on fostering a framework based on consultation, cooperation and good faith bargaining. The division engages with employers, employees and their unions to promote a positive industrial relations environment. The division consists of three main teams: Central Bargaining Unit; Private Sector Industrial Relations and The Inspectorate.

The Information and Compliance Officer will provide advice and information on the government's industrial relations policies and legislation. Long service leave and child employment matters are a key focus for this role. The successful applicant will assist in carrying out compliance and enforcement activities, in addition to providing administrative support to the branch.

The successful applicant will be flexible, adaptable and able to work across the Inspectorate, maximising their skills and capabilities. They will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoying flexible working arrangements and undertaking a wide variety of work.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Ability to undertake investigations, preferably in an area related to employment, legislation or compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate the provision of relevant legislation and regulations to community stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the industrial relations system in Australia.
