Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. Any above base requests require sign off by an executive delegate and will be by exception only or where required to match the current salary of Victorian Public Service staff transferring at level.

The Melbourne Assessment Prison and Courts is seeking a driven and resilient individual to join its executive leadership team as the Corporate Services Manager.

The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing statewide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the North West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice. MAP consists of the prison, the custody facilities at the County, Supreme and Appeal Courts and holding cells at St Vincent's Hospital for prisoners requiring outpatient medical treatment.

The Corporate Services Manager is directly responsible for all critical services related to the prison's achievement of budget, resource management, human resources, staffing, stores, accounts payable, purchasing, environmental services, and prisoner services including records and property. This position also plays a strong leadership role on the prison's executive team, supporting the General Manager, Melbourne Assessment Prison and Courts with shaping and delivering the prison's annual business plan.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Manage, supervise and co-ordinate a large team of corporate and business support service delivery staff
  • Manage a significant budget for the Melbourne Assessment Prison
  • Provide high level strategic budget and financial analysis, procurement and human resource information
  • Contribute to the development of business plans and strategies for corporate and business support services
  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in business and financial management is essential.
