Salary: $129,379 - $173,138 plus superannuation

Please note: Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PAA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.
Do you have a tertiary qualification in hydrology or hydrogeology (or equivalent)?
Do you have significant expertise and skills in hydrological and hydrogeological issues associated with earth resources?
We are seeking a Senior Hydrologist who would be responsible for providing expert hydrological and hydrogeological advice within Earth Resources Regulation team. This position is key in ensuring that the hydrological and hydrogeological risks are identified and managed at the earth resources sites.
You will have the ability to influence regulatory approaches, polices and decisions at all levels. Have a sound understanding of risk assessment process as applied to quarry and mine stability. Your proven analytical, strategic thinking and project management skills will align with your ability to work independently, develop innovative solutions and apply initiatives. You will also have expertise for strategic long-term thinking and well-developed interpersonal skills.
This is an ongoing position available with a work location of Melbourne and hybrid work arrangements.
