Communications Adviser

  • Salary: $97,955 - $111,142 (Plus Superannuation)

The Role

The Communications Adviser delivers innovative communications and media services that raise the profile of our key initiatives, investments and programs, making sure our stakeholders receive the right messages, through the right channels, at the right time.

Main accountabilities:

  • Support the development and delivery of high-quality, accurate communication materials to support best practice communications strategy, a pipeline of media and social media opportunities, reactive media and issues management, and ministerial media events.
  • Build effective working relationships and provide tactical and strategic communications advice to managers in Strategic Communications, to portfolio stakeholders and senior staff.
  • Ensure alignment of portfolio communications, key messages and stakeholder engagement activities and work collaboratively to deliver innovative and creative cross-portfolio opportunities.
  • Contribute to communications strategy development, stakeholder analysis and engagement support, media relations, reputational risks and issues management, as well as social media, advertising and web content and publication management.

The Team

The position of Communications Adviser forms a part of the Strategic Communications within the Office of the Secretary.

The Office of the Secretary provides high level advice and administrative support to the Secretary, as well as other groups across the organisation to support the department meet its objectives.

Strategic Communications is focused on building our department's reputation and delivering on the DJSIR purpose by raising the profile of our key initiatives, investments and programs.

About You
