The Program Support Officer provides operational, logistical, administrative and financial support to the Animal Health and Welfare (AHW) Unit and the South East Regional Team.

The Program Support Officer role provides pivotal assistance to the entire regional team by contributing to planning, administration and reporting on program objectives.  In particular, the role supports the Regional Manager and Program Leaders (in Animal Welfare, Traceability and Product Integrity, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Disease Surveillance) to efficiently execute program objectives. This role also has responsibility for state-wide program support and works as part of a network of Program Support Officers.

According to demand, support provided to the team will include a variety of financial and administrative tasks, scheduling/coordinating and providing support for internal meetings and external stakeholder events, and maintaining documentation relating to region-wide resources and program activities.

The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the unit.  You will support the regional team in the delivery of projects including emergency preparedness, client requests relating to certification of livestock, and maintaining a presence in the office for general contact purposes.  Other duties include maintenance of paper and electronic files, monitoring/reporting on information systems and applications, and providing timely assistance to all team staff relating to financial and human resource matters.
