Position Details

SENIOR POLICY ANALYST

  • $95,275 - $115,276 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Ongoing
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: CBD (flexibility may be available)

The Senior Policy Analyst participates in a multidisciplinary team providing advice to the Minister for Agriculture and senior executive officers on food safety policy and regulation applicable to the meat, seafood, dairy and broader agriculture sectors.

Your role will involve –

  • the preparation of briefings, research papers and correspondence;
  • provision of reports and advice relating to bi-national food policy and draft national food standards;
  • research, investigations and recommendations on food safety policy issues;
  • leading policy development, research and analysis projects;
  • establishing working relationships with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders; and
  • representing DEDJTR on bi-national and state-wide working groups and committees.

For appointment to this position, you will demonstrate skills in–

  • written communication;
  • policy;
  • project management; and
  • initiative and accountability.

The position of Senior Policy Analyst is part of the Agriculture Victoria Division's Animal Welfare and Regulatory Policy Branch of the Employment, Investment and Trade Group.

The Employment, Investment and Trade Group delivers programs and services to grow the Victorian economy.  Its focus is on creating jobs and raising incomes through industry development, targeted investment and increasing the export value of Victorian firms.
