The Seed Phenomics and Quality Traits laboratory based at Grains Innovation Park, Horsham Victoria, is a leader in high-throughput non-destructive analyses using a range of spectroscopy technologies, including near-infrared spectroscopy, multi-spectral, and hyperspectral imaging. The laboratory undertakes research in plant science covering the major cereal, pulse and oilseed crops as part of phenotyping work to quantify seed characteristics and composition.

In this role you will have skills in analytical chemistry, biochemistry or separation sciences and be responsible for undertaking a range of analysis of grains.  The analyses are used in the development of NIR, multispectral and hyperspectral algorithms for high-throughput non-destructive testing of grains.

A degree in Science, Agricultural Science or equivalent science qualification is mandatory for this role.
