The Role Senior Game Officers (SGOs) deliver high quality community-centred game hunting compliance services within a state segment (Noth East, Gippsland or Western Victoria), while also contributing to state-wide service delivery.
The responsibilities of the Senior Game Officer will include:
- Delivering game compliance services across the compliance spectrum to the regional community as part of the broader state-wide compliance program.
- Maintaining good working relationships with community stakeholders and partner agencies.
- Providing advice and educational services, making presentations at stakeholder meetings/gatherings, and attending relevant shows and exhibitions.
- Assisting with the delivery of Game Licence testing and services as required and actively contribute to game research programs.
The Team The position of Senior Game Officer forms a part of the Compliance and Intelligence branch within the Game Management Authority.
The Game Management Authority (GMA) delivers programs to improve and promote sustainable and responsible game hunting in Victoria. The Compliance and Intelligence Division is responsible for improving compliance with hunting laws and regulations. This is achieved by developing and implementing a risk-based, intelligence-led compliance and enforcement program utilising t7ools and activities across the compliance spectrum.
About You The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications and skills:
- Mandatory requirements include a qualification as an Authorised Officer Basic (Legal 1) or equivalent and a current Victorian Driver's Licence.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and sound judgement. The ability to assess the situation and make appropriate and informed decisions, particularly in potentially volatile situations.
- Highly developed ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders or groups.
