The position of Senior Regulatory Advisor forms a part of the Agriculture, Food and Fibre  division, Agriculture Services & Biosecurity Operations branch within the Employment, Investment and Trade group.

The Senior Regulatory Advisor is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of best practice regulatory approaches in the agriculture and resources portfolio of the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport & Resources. The position supports regulators to identify and action opportunities for improvement and change in regulatory practices and maintains oversight and coordination of the development of regulator performance reporting data and processes.

Reporting to the Manager of the Regulatory Improvement team within the Regulatory Practice Unit, the incumbent will monitor, report on and lead the effective and timely delivery of regulatory improvement programs.  The incumbent is also required to prepare and deliver authoritative written and oral briefings, undertake research, review projects and formulate options for consideration by senior and executive management based on rigorous, evidence-based analysis.
