COMMUNITY EDUCATION OFFICER

  • $68,884 - $83,640(Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term, 3 years
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)

The position of Community Education Officer forms part of the Agricultural Victoria Research Branch within Agricultural Victoria. Agriculture Victoria works with industry and community stakeholders to support the agriculture, food and fibre sector to become more globally competitive, innovative and resilient.

The Community Education Officer will coordinate and deliver community education initiatives to deliver STEM skill development into the community, as a pathway to employment and wellbeing.

Reporting to the Community Education Manager, the key accountabilities for the role include:

  • Deliver STEM-related community education workshops to a range of priority and special interest groups, including school students and teachers, using contemporary delivery modes incorporating digital technologies.
  • Train and manage casual presenters for workshops, coordinate rosters and model high professional standards.
  • Contribute to development, updating and continuous improvement of learning resources that showcase current research and innovation by Agriculture Victoria Research, maintaining links with relevant curricula and incorporating contemporary pedagogical approaches to STEM education.
  • Liaise with community education stakeholders to schedule workshops and maintain an accurate database of programs and participants.
  • Implement and update evaluation system to capture feedback, monitor and maintain high workshop standards and report on workshop metrics.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Records Check prior to commencing employment with the Department.
