The position of Senior Project Officer – Animal, Market Access is part of the Agriculture, Food & Fibre Division's Agriculture Policy Branch in the Employment, Investment & Trade Group.

As a senior member of the Market Access Delivery Team, your role will be to lead and contribute to industry market access capability development and provide technical expertise to the broader team to support its function.  The Market Access Delivery team works with stakeholders to develop projects and initiatives to assist in the maintenance and improvement of technical market access for Victoria's animal and animal products industries, including meat, dairy and seafood.  

Do you have experience of providing advice based on specialist knowledge of market access?  Can you apply technical and policy skills to act as a facilitator between staff and stakeholders in relation to market access initiatives?  If so, this may be the job for you.  We are seeking a candidate who –

  • can collaborate with stakeholder to support implementation of technical protocols and delivery of projects and initiatives;
  • can lead and contribute to projects delivered by multiple groups from within DEDJTR, State and National governments;
  • has an awareness of international economic and cultural complexities that may influence project planning, implementation and communications;
  • has excellent written and verbal communication skills and the capacity to provide clear and succinct briefs and reports; and
  • has a well-developed understanding of the culture, structure, processes and operations of government, including multi-jurisdictional forums.
