The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) isseeking to appoint a Director, Corporate Communicationsto join its team. The Director, Corporate Communications is a pivotal leadership position in a talented high-performing team.
The Strategic Communications branch is focused on building the department's reputation and delivering on the DJSIR purpose by raising the profile of key initiatives, investments and programs.
Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Director will work in partnership with senior executives, providing sound strategic advice to mitigate and manage reputational risks and deliver effective leadership communications to drive engagement across the department. The Director will also provide leadership, expert advice and strategic direction to the design and the delivery of the user experience when accessing the department's external facing customer service functions including a call centre.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished senior communications leader andbring creativity and rigour to designing and delivering the department's internal communications strategy and engagement plan. They will also have a strong understanding of organisational context and demonstrated experience in building organisational culture and employee engagement.
