The position of Senior Economist forms a part of the Transport Analysis and Assessment Branch in Policy and Reform Division within Transport Group.
The Transport group works with the Minister for Public Transport and the Minister for Roads and Ports, and a range of agencies including Public Transport Victoria and VicRoads, to develop transport policies which support our state’s growth. The group’s divisions cover a range of areas including transport planning, ports and freight, emergency preparedness, major project development and transport property.
The purpose of this position is to provide support in the appraisal of strategic transport investments, and provide support with demand forecasting and strategic planning for DEDJTR and the transport portfolio.
The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the division.
To be successful in this role you will have good understanding of transport and urban economics, and ability to assess the feasibility of potential investments.
