The position of Senior Property Officer forms a part of the Transport Property Branch in Asset and Networks Division within Transport for Victoria Group.

The Asset and Networks Division develops and implements a long term asset management process and strategy for transport infrastructure, leads the development of business cases and delivers major initiatives to achieve the Government's agenda for an integrated transport network, which brings significant economic value to the State.

 The Division also provides land management services, including effective utilisation of land holdings and surplus land release, and undertakes policy, planning and oversight of Victoria's commercial and local ports.

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Property Officer – Land Acquisition are to assist the Assistant Director, Transport Property on a range of real estate property projects to contribute to the achievement of outcomes consistent with the Government's social, economic and environmental objectives.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong knowledge of compulsory acquisition processes including a firm understanding of the key areas of risk to project delivery.
  • A strong knowledge of the operation of legislation including the Transport Integration Act 2010, the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009 and the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to confidently convey ideas and information in a clear and interesting way with an ability to handle difficult and sensitive communications well.
