Position Details

MANAGER PROJECTS, MAJOR ROAD PROJECTS AUTHORITY (2 Positions)

  • $116,863 - $156,387 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term (3 years) 
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: Melbourne, CBD (flexibility may be available)

These positions of Manager Projects form a part of the Network Development Branch in Asset and Networks Division within Transport for Victoria Group.

Reporting to the Director Metro Network Coordination, this position is responsible for providing oversight of the development and delivery of major road project initiatives to achieve an integrated transport network in Victoria bringing significant economic value across the State.

The position will integrate whole-of network TfV strategies with decision making in the planning, development, delivery and operationalisation of key road infrastructure programs and projects. This will include providing best practice, client centric investment program leadership through whole-of-network perspective and integration in managing key interfaces, interdependencies, risks, procurement, delivery and operationalisation.

The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across Transport for Victoria and portfolio partners including the Office of the Co-ordinator General, Public Transport Victoria, VicRoads, V/Line and other Government departments and a wide range of industry stakeholders including local councils and the community, as well as relevant Ministers and other DEDJTR Groups.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the transport network, current transport network issues, key government priorities for its development.
  • Excellent project management skills to monitor performance against objectives and manage project risks and issues while ensuring that the project objectives are met.
  • A proven track record of developing constructive relationships by effectively managing the competing demands of diverse stakeholders, interest groups, the community and the Government and exercising sound judgement and discretion in responding to a multiplicity of sensitive, highly complex issues that attract strong community interest and media coverage.
