About MRPV

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.


The Role

The Senior Safety Advisor will be responsible for the efficient delivery of safety strategies and frameworks within a multi-billion dollar program.

As part of the Suburban Roads Upgrade – Northern and South Eastern packages, you will contribute to the improvement of six main roads in Melbourne's northern suburbs, as well as six arterial south eastern roads.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Develop, implement and maintain safety management systems, as well as safety strategy and framework documents.
  • Provide expert advice, support and coaching to MRPV employees across all aspects of safety, including on-site and office requirements.
  • Conduct incident investigations and undertake trend analysis using the MRPV Incident Management System (IMS).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and contractors to achieve an optimal safe working environment.

About you

Ideally, you will have:

  • A relevant diploma or degree qualification in safety or a related field, and/or extensive experience is mandatory.
  • Relevant experience in engineering or the construction field and/or road construction environment will be highly regarded.
  • Sound knowledge of risk management principles and related practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing health and safety management systems, and providing advice to managers and staff with regard to best practice HSE matters.
