Position Details

  • $82,574 - $95,689 p.a. plus superannuation
  • Fixed Term until 28 February 2020
  • Usual hours of work:  Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: Bairnsdale or Maffra

The position of Livestock Industry Development Officer forms a part of the Agriculture Victoria division, Biosecurity and Agricultural Services branch within the Employment, Investment and Trade group.

This position will focus on the delivery of services and development of resources associated with dry seasonal conditions across East and Central Gippsland. The successful applicant will require technical expertise in livestock production and nutrition, grazing management, farm planning as well as experience in service delivery to the farming sector and extension capability.

High level stakeholder management and oral and written communication skills are important attributes of the position. The successful applicant will be required to translate and integrate research results into practical messages and provide regional and industry intelligence, data and information for internal briefings and reporting purposes

An appropriate tertiary degree in Agricultural Science or an equivalent science qualification is mandatory for this position.
