The Resources Division within DEDJTR develops policy, programs and regulation to enable investment and generate jobs through sustainable development of the State's earth resources, including extractives, minerals and petroleum.

Reporting to the Director Regulatory Compliance, this pivotal position sits within the Earth Resources Regulation branch and is responsible for planning, tasking and coordinating the branch's state-wide compliance operations. The position will work collaboratively with Regional Managers and Inspectors to gain an understanding of compliance information and risks and develop key learnings from preceding operations.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Review and maintain Earth Resource Regulation's compliance strategy, arrangements with co-regulators, annual operation plan and standard operation procedures
  • Identify and direct delivery of competency training and tactical equipment for Regulatory Compliance team
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on all aspects of regulatory compliance
  • Manage collection and interpretation of compliance information and patterns

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience developing and implementing contemporary governance arrangements and operational strategies for regulatory compliance within a complex operating context. The ability to build effective working relationships and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders will be instrumental in achieving positive regulatory outcomes. The position will require advanced communication, problem solving and analytical capabilities.
