Position Details

MIXED FARMING DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

  • $82,574 - $93,689 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term, 3 years 
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: Mildura, Swan Hill or Hopetoun

Your focus will be the delivery of services and development of resources associated with dry seasonal conditions across North West Victoria.  You will work effectively as a member of a team to provide integrated services for clients and undertake a variety of work involving the provision of integrated services to producers, service providers, industry groups and regional stakeholders. 

For appointment to this position you will demonstrate –

  • a degree in Agricultural Science or an equivalent science qualification;
  • technical knowledge and experience of dryland cropping and livestock production systems and relevant agricultural practices;
  • ability to work autonomously, but also to develop and promote cooperative working relationships;
  • exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills, with ability to adapt your message to a range of people;
  • experience in the development, design and delivery of services utilising extension principles and practices; and
  • ability to think creatively and critically to develop innovative solutions to complex issues and problems.

The position of Mixed Farming Development Officer is part of the Agriculture Victoria Division's Biosecurity and Agricultural Services Branch in the Employment, Investment and Trade Group.

The Employment, Investment and Trade Group delivers programs and services to grow the Victorian economy.  Its focus is on creating jobs and raising incomes through industry development, targeted investment and increasing the export value of Victorian firms.
