Position Details

Assets Lead, Bus Services Recontracting

The key focus of the role is the Melbourne Bus Franchise (MBF) tender project. Reporting to the Deputy Program Director, the Assets Lead will provide specialist assets advice to assist the project team conduct a tender for MBF services, which is approximately 30 percent of the metropolitan Melbourne bus network (currently operated by Transdev).

The key assets of the MBF are approximately 500 buses, 6 depots as well as other operational and business assets used to deliver the bus services. The assets are managed and maintained by the Franchisee during the franchise term. The bus and depot assets are currently owned by an asset owning entity arranged by the Franchisee, and at the end of the franchise term the assets are transferred to Government or a future franchisee

The successful applicant will have extensive experience in asset management in a passenger transport operations and maintenance environment and ideally will have experience in public transport franchise arrangements.
