The position of Manager, Strategy and Planning within the Fishermans Bend Taskforce unit forms a part of the Precinct Design branch within the Precincts and Suburbs Group.

Fishermans Bend is Australia's largest urban renewal project covering approximately 480 hectares in the heart of Melbourne and connects Melbourne's CBD to the bay. The Fishermans Bend Taskforce works with the Fishermans Bend Development Board, across State Government, councils, landowners, businesses, developers and communities to implement the vision for this priority project. The vision reflects a global benchmark for smart sustainable development and integrated communities where people live, work and play.

Reporting to the Director, Fishermans Bend Taskforce this position will be responsible for overseeing planning components of the Taskforce's work program including precinct plans and catalyst projects. This will include providing strategic advice on planning policy and implementation, working cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve taskforce objectives and provide leadership across a range of issues including governance, resource management and priority project implementation.

The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified and have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Victorian planning system, particularly the statutory planning framework, relevant legislation and local government planning practices. Previous experience in statutory and strategic land use, planning in the public and private sectors with the ability to manage major development projects is required.
