The position of Secretariat and Policy Officer forms a part of the Fishermans Bend Taskforce branch within the Precincts and Suburbs group.

The newly established Precincts and Suburbs Group drives strategic planning for precincts, suburbs and places to create vibrant, distinct and innovative communities. The Fishermans Bend Taskforce has been established to plan for Australia's largest urban renewal project.

The combined Secretariat and Policy Officer position is part of a high performing team and will provide a range of administrative and policy support functions to the Fishermans Bend Development Board.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provision of secretariat support to Fishermans Bend Development Board and subcommittees
  • Participate in policy development, research and report preparation
  • Work collaboratively across the Taskforce to deliver priorities and initiatives as required by the Board

To be successful in this position you will have a strong service delivery focus with previous experience providing secretariat support services. The ability to think creatively and analytically to solve policy problems is required and you will enjoy learning new things and taking on new challenges. Strong communication and relationship skills will be required to working collaboratively across the department, government, community and industry stakeholders.
