Technical Assistant

The position of Technical Assistant forms a part of the Agriculture Victoria Research branch within Agriculture Victoria group.

The Seed Phenomics and Quality Traits laboratory based at Grains Innovation Park Horsham, is a leader in high-throughput non-destructive analyses. The laboratory undertakes research in plant science covering the major cereal, pulse and oilseed crops as part of phenotyping work to quantify seed characteristics and composition. You will be a part of this multi-disciplinary team and work with a range of research scientists and technical staff to provide hands-on laboratory-based support.

The position is responsible for undertaking the characterisation of grain and plant samples using innovative technologies to measure key market traits important to the Victorian grains industry. You will be involved with the development of high throughput techniques that improve the quality of major cereal, pulse and oilseed crops.
