Plant Biosecurity Contingency Planning Officer

The position of Plant Biosecurity Contingency Planning Officer forms a part of the Biosecurity and Agriculture services branch within the Agriculture Victoria group.

The Plant Biosecurity Contingency Planning Officer within the Chief Plant Health Officer Unit is responsible for activities to deliver the Streamlining Plant Pest Contingency Plans for Integration Project. This is a national project focussing on developing modularised and streamlined plant pest contingency plans.

Under the direction of the Manager – Preparedness Surveillance and Response, the position will work with staff from Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, stakeholders and relevant interstate and commonwealth agencies to deliver the project. This will result in improved preparedness Australia-wide for emergency plant pest responses.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated ability to manage a complex project.  A good understanding of biosecurity is vital for this role.  Strong communication skills are vital to this role.

A degree in science or equivalent is required for this role.
