The position of Manager, Regional Development Australia (RDA) forms a part of the Office for Suburban Development within the Precincts and Suburbs Group. This newly established group drives strategic planning for precincts, suburbs and places to create vibrant, distinct and innovative communities.

The Office of Suburban Development is responsible for delivery and development of the Government's vision and policy agenda for Melbourne's suburbs.

As part of a small, dedicated team this position will be responsible for providing high level support to the Melbourne RDA board, will manage senior multi-agency committees and represent the department at government forums, committees and working groups.

The position will lead and coordinate the development of RDA projects in the Melbourne metropolitan area and work closely with key internal and external stakeholders providing information and advice to achieve successful project and program outcomes.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of economic development policy and governance frameworks. A solid understanding of policy concepts is required with the ability to apply sound policy analysis in the preparation of strategic advice. Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills are essential.
